Choose an Anti-inflammatory Diet to Reduce Chronic Pain and Arthritis Symptoms

The American College of Sports Medicine Conference in San Francisco, California announced that tart cherries could help reduce chronic inflammation. Researchers suggest that this tangy fruit has the “highest anti-inflammatory content of any food.”

A study was conducted which involved twenty women between the ages of 40 and 70 All of the participants had inflammatory osteoarthritis and were told to drink tart cherry juice two times a day for three weeks. Results showed that the women had significant reduction in inflammation symptoms.

The lead researcher from the study, Dr. Kerry Kuehl, suggests that “it’s promising that tart cherries can help without the possible side effects associated with arthritis medications.” So many Americans search for natural remedies to their chronic pain and associated symptoms. Cherries could be a great solution.

Osteoarthritis is the most common variation of arthritis in the United States. Many athletes will experience chronic pain from the condition due to the excessive joint use that can cause the cartilage to breakdown. Other research on tart cherries revealed that a daily does helped reduce osteoarthritis pain by over twenty percent.
