Dr. Priya Krishnamurthy is an Endocrinologist with a background in Internal Medicine, Preventive Medicine, and Public Health, who offers a unique approach that combines high-level academic medicine and functional medicine. She has a varied and rich academic background and has worked for the federal government, University Hospital systems, the VA System and is now in private practice. She has an adjunct faculty status with Western University, Lebanon, OR. She brings to the table 28 years of experience as a physician and has worked as an Endocrinologist since 2004.

She obtained her medical degree at the University of Delhi, India, followed by a double residency in Internal medicine and Preventive medicine through the Yale/Griffin Program offered by Yale University, Connecticut. She also simultaneously pursued an MPH degree from Yale School of Epidemiology and Public Health, her major being Epidemiology of Obesity/ Diabetes. Subsequently, she completed a research fellowship program in Endocrinology Diabetes, and Metabolism through the NIDDK at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD. She then went on to work as the Medical Director of the Joslin Diabetes center satellite program with the University of Maryland, Easton, MD prior to moving to Oregon. She has been in private practice since 2010 and opened her own practice in 2015. She is now based in Tualatin, Oregon where she runs a comprehensive metabolic medicine center.

She has several interests in medicine including clinical practice, clinical research, medical economics, and health care delivery models, teaching, speaking, mentoring, and being a thought leader. Within the world of Endocrinology, she has a special interest in diabetes, cardiovascular risk reduction, autoimmune thyroid disease, osteoporosis, and menopause.

Her approach to clinical care has evolved over the years with education, work experience, and openness to science-based natural therapies. Her philosophy of medical care involves addressing hormonal issues in the most innovative manner that combines best medical practice with lifestyle medicine and functional medicine concepts and tools.
